Martin Arnold's JEANNE

Here's more on the original commission for Jeanne, the Martin Arnold installation video we watched a bit of today. The images and description give you a sense of how scale is an important factor in contemplating the discursive space of Renée Falconetti's face. Interestingly, the description notes a sense of entrapment similar to Deborah Linderman's discussion of the impossible space occupied by Joan/Jeanne in Dreyer's film: "Here, Jeanne seemed to be forever trapped in the cinematic space of the projection."
